I_want_hopei Posted March 2, 2021 Report Posted March 2, 2021 Hello everyone, I am going to Catalina island in Sothern California. I heard many insects were there, and I am planning for collection. But I don't know if it is allowed to catch insects there. How do I know if I am able to catch or not? Quote
Dynastes TItyus hunter Posted March 2, 2021 Report Posted March 2, 2021 You'll have to ask the owner of that land first. Quote
Goliathus Posted March 2, 2021 Report Posted March 2, 2021 I'm pretty sure that Catalina Island is totally off limits to collecting. About 90 percent of the island is a natural preserve owned by the Catalina Island Conservancy, established in the early 1970s. I've heard that you aren't even allowed to pick up rocks. Quote

I think that's correct, all you need to do is look it up, if it's a nature preserve, or National Park you can look, but not touch. Quote
