I heard many insects were there, and I am planning for collection. But I don't know if it is allowed to catch insects there. How do I know if I am able to catch or not? About 90 percent of the island is a natural preserve owned by the Catalina Island Conservancy, established in the early 1970s. I've heard that you aren't even allowed to pick up rocks.
