Recommended Posts

Hello everyone

I have been keeping stag beetles for inwhile now and I got them as adults.

I'm wanting to buy hercules beetles but they come as larvae I understand how to care for them up until their pupae stage I'm am a bit unclear on hentoncre for them then

Do they still need feeding/watering

Do I just leave them/should I make a seperate cell etc

It would be great if someone could help me

Thank you

Depending on how many larvae/what species, you need to start with a good amount of substrate. Keep them in large containers filled with substrate with minimum air holes. Check the substrate every so often and make sure it does not dry out. If you notice large chunks of "frass", it's time to replace the substrate. When it's time for them to turn into a pupa they will get very yellow in color. They will make a pupal cell from here or you can create an artificial one.

Aslo, what is hentoncre?

Use a keyboard. It'll help your spelling.😀 (posted by the anti-smartphone association)
