I used flake soil. I had spare so why not. You can try different things, but they eat wood in the wild (found some in logs too)

Absolutely gorgeous beetles! I found my first of both species this year and was lucky enough to get a specimen.

Are you able to get them to breed fine with just flake soil?

Didn't breed them lol. I collected adults as well as larvae. Far as I know they breed in flake soil.

How did you know? You likely either had it before hand, or clicked some ads on the link. Also, you don't need to pay five dollars for an antivirus to remove something. If you suspect you have a virus you can download rescue CDs or scanners from different reputable companies.
