beetlebug
I went hiking at Yamingshan and on the way down I saw her just sitting on the path. Any breeding tips guys?
JWRay
No breeding tips from me, just a large amount of jealousy. That is a very cool beetle!
Lucanus
Wow, that's an awesome find! Since you are in Taiwan, you should be able to get breeding mediums for stag beetles in local bug store. She'll probably drop eggs in the medium when you place her in there

InsectaJaeger888
Odontolabis siva is a great beginner stag beetle to begin with they will even ovipost in decayed flake soil if she has mated prior to be captured. This is one of my favorite species and that I was very fond of when I used to make trips to the Taiwan cloudforests and rainforests. For some reason though females were far easier to find then decent sized males.
InsectaJaeger888
Perhaps for it is a reproductive survival strategy for Odontolabis siva in which more females are produced then males in a generation to ensure the survival of the next generation.
