goodluck.milo
Hello! I am planning to catch some Dynastes Grantii in Arizona this year and am preparing supplies. This is my first time beetle hunting and I'm wondering what gear is best for actually catching the beetles. Is a bug net suggested? Or are they easy enough to catch with your hands? Any help is appreciated :] Edit: I just noticed that the "other discussions" category is not for beetle talk-- my bad! Thanks everyone for your help Edited August 26, 2022 by goodluck.milo
Oak
Hand is enough imo but I guess it depends on how you plan on catching them.
kevink
"Catching" is a little bit of a dubious term. When it comes to beetles, one usually simply picks them up and puts them in a container. I have used a net at times to snare the occasional flyby.
