Hi, I'm making flake soil with Traeger Oak Pellets and I was wondering how I could tell when it would be suitable for rhino beetles and stag beetles. I hear they ned different fermentation periods, so I was wondering what to look out for when each are done.

I go by color, it should be a noticably darker shade of brown (almost like brown sugar) but not yet black. If it's still a blondish color when moist it's not ready.

That seemed to work for me, but others with more experience may have differing opinions.
