Dragozap Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 Hi, I'm making flake soil with Traeger Oak Pellets and I was wondering how I could tell when it would be suitable for rhino beetles and stag beetles. I hear they ned different fermentation periods, so I was wondering what to look out for when each are done. Quote
scottbot84 Posted September 19, 2020 Report Posted September 19, 2020 I go by color, it should be a noticably darker shade of brown (almost like brown sugar) but not yet black. If it's still a blondish color when moist it's not ready. That seemed to work for me, but others with more experience may have differing opinions. Quote
Ratmosphere Posted September 21, 2020 Report Posted September 21, 2020 Should smell very earthy. Quote
Reyes Posted October 28, 2020 Report Posted October 28, 2020 Also, it should be warm and can clump together. Quote
