Dragozap
Hi, I'm making flake soil with Traeger Oak Pellets and I was wondering how I could tell when it would be suitable for rhino beetles and stag beetles. I hear they ned different fermentation periods, so I was wondering what to look out for when each are done.
scottbot84
I go by color, it should be a noticably darker shade of brown (almost like brown sugar) but not yet black. If it's still a blondish color when moist it's not ready. That seemed to work for me, but others with more experience may have differing opinions. Ratmosphere
Should smell very earthy.
Reyes
Also, it should be warm and can clump together.
