KICritters
I'm interested in what dung beetles are available in the US
DynastinaeLucanidae
You can try to start with Phanaeus vindex, they're spectacular!
Beetlebee
Do you actually need to supply them with dung?
Beetle-Experience
Adults will eat different things, but will not lay eggs without dung. Deltochilum gibbosum will create a brood ball from other things, like feathers, fur and rotten meat. Â https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Rearing-Rainbow-Scarab-Beetles/dp/0980240158 Â Good Luck! robot
I don't know what's "available", but some of the showier and larger US species are Phanaeus vindex, P difformis, P amithaon, P quadridens, P triangularis, P adonis, Dichotomius carolinus, Deltochilum gibbosum. There are more, but I can't think of them at the moment.
pannaking22
The only species I've ever really seen for sale is P. vindex.
robot
Depending on where you live, you can catch other species by using a pitfall trap (baited with dung).
Goliathus
BugsInCyberspace.com should have Phanaeus vindex available in another 5 weeks or so.
