LarvaHunter
I was wondering, does anyone know about using live beetles outside to attract more of the same species? I know that entomologists buy pheromones of beetle species to attract that species to their traps. I tried once but now I have 6 phalaris vagus, which may be enough. a.ojala
It's never enough, if you catch extra you can always sell or trade them off. I tried it once with a flower beetle, and it seemed like it worked.
LarvaHunter
What I meant is maybe 6 beetles are enough to attract more with pheromones. I apologize I should have worded it differently. I agree with you, You can never have enough beetles or larva! Call me a beetle hoarder. a.ojala
Lol When I tried it I only used two females, but I found that 90% of the beetles that got attracted to the pheromones where males.
Lucanus
What's Phalaris vagus (sounds like Phileurus valgus. lol)? I'm curious to know what beetle it is I doubt that 6 beetles will be enough to attract males successfully.

LarvaHunter
The spell check changed valgus into vagus again huh, spell check makes me spell worse I am very literate and type fast, I guess now I have to read everything that I type because of spell check.
