GeneralZero Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 Went through an oak tree and another tree today for substrate and saw a little head sticking out looking at me, well dug deeper in the wood with my hands and found 15 of these larvae: So am I right or?? Thanks for helping me in advance! Quote
GeneralZero Posted November 28, 2012 Author Report Posted November 28, 2012 also found a long(ish) black beetle not sure what kind but he seems to love wood! Didn't get a chance to snap a picture yet but will soon! Quote
GeneralZero Posted November 28, 2012 Author Report Posted November 28, 2012 Thought so! I had one before I found at Home Depot (part time job) unfortunately he died the next day; I believe he may have been near pesticides or something since I found him on a plant. Quote
Alexmantisman Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 they look like curecus sp Quote
Lucanus Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 Definately a larva in genus Lucanus Looks like Lucanus elaphus to me too but it could be another species in the same genus. Quote
GeneralZero Posted December 19, 2012 Author Report Posted December 19, 2012 Thanks going to find more soon I particularly have no interest in rearing this species I find them intriguing, but favor the Hercules/Dynastes/Rhino Quote
