bluefrogtat2
today when we got home from lunch my wife found this grub in our doorway? any clue? cant wait to see what it is,nearly the size of my pinkie. (i would assume capriolus?and will try some wood substrate when i get off of work to see if it feeds) andy
Dynastes
It's not a stag. It looks like Dynastinae but certainly a scarab. The only large Dynastinae in your area are Strategus and Zyloryctes and the head is too small for S. antaeus. I'll be interested in hearing what it turns out to be. Osmoderma should be common where you live but this angle at least doesn't seem to match.

Lucanus
Do you have any other pictures of this larva? It looks kind of foreign to me.
