jake7917
I am using a mix of decayed leaves and flake soil in about a 50:50 ratio for some of my grubs. I didn’t add any additives besides from maybe some peat. Problem is, my soil now has the consistency of play doh and smells like produce, more specifically cucumber. any reason for this? I figure the substrate is used up, or something causes it to start decomposing, but I added more only a couple weeks ago. There are grass pellets noticeable as well so it is being eaten. JKim
You added too much leaf litters not decayed enough, and is taking steps to another fermentation. You can either throw it away, or mix it up daily basis to complete the fermentation process.

Will it become inedible? Is it inedible as it is right now?
