Inle
I haven been trying to figure out what kind of Darkling beetle "Speedy" is for awhile now and I just can't seem to come up with an answer. Does anyone know? He is smaller than my Eleodes subnitens and bigger than the Eleodes osculans. Super fast and super active, he also seems to like to burrow but comes out every evening to run laps around the tank non-stop.
jreidsma
obscurus comes to mind. But on their back is more of a bunch of lines, while yours seems to have dots/dimples on its back...
Inle
I think he is smaller than an obscurus, I've never seen an obscurus in person but from the pictures I've seen. Those are lines of dimples on his back. He's a neat beetle I just haven't been able to ID him.
jreidsma
Well, we know it is a Eleodes species. Maybe Orin or someone better at IDing beetles will come along
Inle
He kind of looks like this Eleodes goryi. Although the goryi looks more "round" than Speedy.
jreidsma
The dimples are right but the shape is off.
