mites on larva

I always find around 2 or 3 mites on an L2 dynastes granti larva. They stay on the underside of the larva and don't move much. Is this a problem?

If you find only two or three can't you just smash them? A small number of mites on larvae is harmless.

In the past, I've brushed them off with a soft paintbrush (but not for any particular reason but a small respect for my pet). I posted a photo of a bee on this forum a couple years ago. It was covered with mites. As it turns out, the mites weren't necessarily hurting the bee. They were just overwintering on a bee that would later transport them to distant lands.
