Foreign Beetle Jelly

Has anyone tried foreign beetle jelly from eBay like this? Similar price to what I already buy but may be better - who knows.

I'm sure it works fine but way too expensive lol
Where do you buy your beetle jelly? I wanted to try this because on amazon japan it has great reviews and is pretty well known in Asia as a very good jelly.

I mostly use fruits. But I guess the cheaper alternative would be to buy from insectbrothers or mass import them from Taiwan/Japan.

Fruits don't work for me since I live with people who would rather not have the gnats and smell that come with fruit. I did the price comparison for this jelly and it is similar to insectbrothers so I think I'll give it a shot.

I have ordered and used a hundred different types from ebay, friends, sellers, in every sort of tub and tube over decades for as many different stags, rhinos, flower beetles, and others. Still, the cheap fruit jelly I get at the local Asian market are the most useful and eaten by the most species. They don't work for phileurini but I've only ever found one flavor and brand Phileurini eat (the white creature jelly https://www.amazon.com/ZOOMED-CREATURE-FOOD-JELLY-CUP/dp/B0771SF3J6 but not the same lactose flavor of any other Chinese or Japanese brand except the one that makes it for zoomed).

I've never been able to find jelly at markets near me, I did see something kind of similar at H-mart but it was decently expensive. Maybe the way to go is to import large amounts.

Yeah also shipping through ebay is quite cheap compared to importing from Taiwan - i was just quoted 135$ for shipping alone.
$135 for postage alone?? That's definitely a scam...lol. I don't know how many jellies you were trying to imported when you got that quote, but should be A WHOLE LOT CHEAPER if you order 800-900 jellies.. I imported beetle jellies multiple times from Korea, Japan, Taiwan since 2007-ish of the time, and shipping has never been that high..

This was for an order of 1000, and shipping is under a week for this quote. Do you have anywhere you can reference that is significantly cheaper? I’m on a smaller scale so any more than the 500 range is kind of over kill.

Okay, if it is quick shipping under a week, that is quite reasonable...

I get bags of small ones with 30 or so for $3-4, they aren't "for" beetles but they work better than most of the beetle ones. There's also a plastic jar container with 2 dozen large mango for $4 that work good too. There's also all different ones in plastic bear jars and such. You might be missing what's there.

You have any Asian food stores near you? One in New Haven CT around 20 mins from me has plenty of the standard jellies constantly in stock for DIRT cheap.

I have one near me but its nothing compared to H mart so I doubt they will have much - do these contain protein and vitamins like beetle focused jellies?
