Adult pair?

Does this look like a pair?

I'm guessing the one on the right is a male because he's slimmer and has a more prominent mucro, whereas the one on the left is larger and much more round.

Fits with my knowledge of Eleodes. Males are usually smaller/less robust looking and in some species do have the mucro that is more prominent than the females(but this is not always possible to use, iirc).

I'm just praying that I got a pair. lol

I started with 6 larvae, got all 6 to prepupa, found one molded over the next day. Then got the last five to pupate; Lost two more due to mismolts (they apparently hardened in their pupal exuviae; it was a hideous sight to see half beetle half pupae walking around lol) and one due to unknown reasons... So there's these two. The "female" is surprisingly large. I really hope they breed; I have half their substrate damp and the other half dry. They really seem to like hanging on the screening on the dry side.

Looks like a pair. The male has a spine on the front femur while the female doesn't but that's not visible in your photo.

I'll have to get a better pic with this spine in it for future reference.

Well my breeding plans have been set back a bit. A week-ish ago this container fell off the shelf and cracked open, allowing the two beetles to escape. I caught the male the night of, and searched desperately for the female, but to no avail. Then I decided to feed my crested geckos on their own time (IE night) last night and noticed a weird lump in the corner of the room. It was the female! They're back in the set up and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for eggs!
