    Osmoderma eremicola

I cannot know what you saw but I am rather familiar with this species. I have kept Osmoderma eremicola for a few decades and have never seen an animal make an actual pupal cell more than once. It may not be impossible but it is highly improbable. However, something most people do not know about...

    Meloe active near winter

I only run into a Meloe female every so many years. In the past I've found them around midsummer but this one was found yesterday. They can live quite a few months on honey but for some reason they never seem to lay eggs.

I haven't searched much for identification information but I've never seen this beetle before ever. Anybody familiar with...

    Yeast

Here are some thumbnails. I did not adjust the images except to resize and both were taken by the same camera a few minutes apart. The left is normal coloration and the right is the odd coloration. The are the same stock but the normal yellow were started about ten months earlier (stragglers...

    Yeast

Also known as the crazy guy who feeds dog food to his grubs (believe it or not the worldwide beetle community thought it was a crazy idea in the mid 90s) I'm never content to stop experimenting. I tried yeast supplementation over the last year or two and the final results with Dynastes tityus...
