BensBeasts1
I was wondering what plants (succulents) can I put with darklings?
aspenentomology
In my experience, they will begin to eat most succulents/cacti if not constantly supplied with enough water or fruit/vegetable food. You also need to watch out for root rot as damp substrate from careless watering killed a cactus I kept with some darklings. Otherwise, I'd imagine that most succulents would be fine. BensBeasts1
Thanks for the info, I will make sure I get plants that aren’t harmful so they don’t die when eating them.
Peter Clausen
Pesticides are a significant concern with store-bought plants. I posted a youtube video on this topic recently (Desert Beetles Part 2). Another concern is that many plants need a lot of light and keeping a mostly closed up container near a window can cause heat to build up to dangerous levels. The amount of heat build up can change with the seasons and so if you test it with a thermometer in one month and it is safe, it can still become quite dangerous when the sun is in a different position in the sky in another month.
