shoegazer
I know there are some KS beetle folks here - anyone else in the Wichita area interested in some blacklighting trips through the summer? I bought an array last winter and used it for the firt time last night with some interesting results. I'm going to be trying to hit more timbered, easterly areas for Lucanus and Dynastes in the coming weeks. If someone else has an array, that'd be twice the attracting power! shoegazer
BTW, can anyone identify these?
Bill Myers
I'd have to say they look a lot like Bolbocerosoma confusum to me. Nice find! I don't think Bugguide.net has any data on these in Kansas. You might want to upload your pictures there and see what they say. shoegazer
Awesome Bill, many thanks! I was pouring through BugGuide this morning trying to find these, but it becomes a needle-haystack situation sometimes.
