Hi everyone! Last night I was out looking for grapevine beetles and other buggies outside, as one does, and stumbled across what I thought was a dead grapevine beetle on my driveway. I was going to leave it there because the ants need to eat, but for some reason I decided to mess with it a little first. It moved! Since he was alive, I decided to save it since being eaten alive would be a bad way to go. He perked up as I carried him around and was ready to fly! But to both of our dismay, after multiple attempts it was clear something was wrong. He couldn't fly. I decided to keep him as a hospice pet situation and I want to keep him for the remainder of his life (or even better, rehabilitate him). My goal is to make him comfortable, not to breed him. His name is George. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!!
I have never kept beetles before.
I don't know why he can't fly, if it's just the end of his lifecycle or what. I have virginia creeper to feed him. Any suggestions would be wonderful!!
thank you!!!
