Last fall I found a bunch of Allomyrina dichotoma larvae (L3) and put 25 in one 50 liter container and another 25 in a second 50 liter container. They made pupa cells in late April and then my ship had to go out to sea so I left my wife in charge. As the adult beetles emerged in May she removed them in put them in individuals cases. I came home yesterday and went to get rid of the old substrate and to my surprise I found a lot of L1 and L2 larvae in the container. What do you think happened ? My wife was diligent checking everyday and removing beetles as they emerged and even if she missed one it take 3 weeks or some before they are really capable of breeding.
