Small yellow/tan balls in substrate

I recently checked in on one of my larvae and found a bunch of small yellow/tan balls scattered about on the substrate. It was clustered in some spots, but very scattered in others. Could these be eggs or fungus? Or something else I don't know about? I'm guessing that cooking the substrate a bit may be in order...

Thanks!

What was your substrate made of?

If there was some commercial "bought" compost in the mix it could well be slow release fertilzer pellets.

If all natural, probably slug or snail eggs - just have a look through and remove them, they normally come to the surface at night.

Cooking the substrate only makes mold grow more, it is done to kill worms and other invertebrate pests.

It is all natural and I looked up some pictures of snail/slug eggs and that's what they were. I'll just remove them as I find them. Thanks everyone!
