Polyurethane or Liquid Rubber for Roach bin

Hi, I recently built a wooden roach bin and am wondering which of these 2 would be the safest option for my roaches. I know that if I use a polyurethane I will have to wait for 30 days or so until it is food grade safe. With the liquid rubber I think letting it sit for a few days should do but my question would be which of these are the safer option? Does anybody have experience with building wooden enclosures that need to withstand some amount of humidity? In this case about 60% humidity. I will be using it for 2 dubia colonies. Can the roaches chew through the rubber or oil based poly finish? Would covering it in some sort of plastic be a better option? Any suggestions are appreciated as this is my first shot at building an enclosure and I can't seem to find any information online about people building wooden roach bins or anything similar.

What's the use of polyurethane and liquid rubber? Is it to adhere wood pieces together? or to seal it and waterproof it?

Instead of a wooden enclosure, why not just use a plastic storage bin, and totally avoid any possibility of toxicity?  Totally waterproof, rot-proof, and roaches can't chew it.  A large one is less than $10.

Right thats what I have them in currently. But I wanted to increase my population so I can provide feeder roaches to friends so I made a much bigger wooden roach bin.

Is the wood untreated? If so, you are aware that, while it's safe for the roaches to be on, they may eventually chew through it? Might take a while, but eventually they'll do it... Just making more plastic bins rather than one big wooden one would be the way to go IMO, I've never heard of people using wooden bins, especially for humid setups, as the wood will eventually start to rot, which will make it even easier for the roaches to chew their way out.
