I went to Mexico a while back and only saw some dead Megasoma specimens at the nature center museum area. Saw a boatload of iguanas though.Yes, I’ve always to visit south or central America.
What was the reasoning behind giving Megasoma actaeon johannae (M. rex) species status? It seems to me, that rex is indeed a ssp. (or just a morphological variant) of actaeon.I would love to see Megasoma rex in these types of numbers.
That's it? Just a tiny structural difference in one of the tarsal segments? By that logic, people with different hair and eye colors could be classified as different species! The small difference between Megasoma acteon and rex.
