Hey,Aspiring beetle keeper here!

I've kept Bess beetles for a few months and I've decided that I want to try some other species (Most likely Gymnetis thula or Dynastes Tityus). I want to prepare some substrate before getting them. Could I ferment wood that is already white and rotten?

Welcome. Dynastes tityus is my favorite beetle but there are so many that are so beautiful. You don't need to artificially rot, rotten wood. Try fermenting some pellets and then mix in you rotten wood but be sure it is treated so it does not contain earthworms, nematodes, whiteworms, etc.

Hi! If the wood is already rotten, as Dynastes has mentioned, it is not necessary to ferment it again. I would suggest as exactly as the way Dynastes has provided.
