I came across a story I'd never heard before in an old book. One of the largest and most impressive longhorn beetles in the world was Xixuthrus heros a species just a little smaller than Titaneus giganteus. I'd never heard of this neat looking species. It reportedly was considered a delicacy by the natives and eaten to extinction. However, the extinction reports aren't true just yet.
