Does anybody know what Pelidnota lugubris eats? I imagine it is leaves of some tree, but not sure which one. These were collected in Rio Rico, Arizona, USA.

Here is a photo I took of this species:

Last summer's collection efforts of a few adults have produced 26 L1 larvae! They've been in my cold garage but they seem to be feeding well on oak wood.

And here too, use Beetle Jelly, it have Protein.

It is nessesary for the female Beetles, she (it) can produce more Eggs.

And they live longer, Eggs laying cost energy and they die faster.

Greetings,

Mashku.
