Dynastes granti larvae

Oak

Goliathus
Hello, i just bought Dynastes granti larvae from bugsincyberspace.com. Few days later, the larvae started turning darker and darker. And im wondering if this means his going to die soon. I cannot find any oaks here, or other trees except for Pines, and i heard Pine Trees are poisonous to the larvae?? I live in Irvine, California, please help!!

Dynastes granti larvae are more picky than D.tityus, even wild-caught but both can eat well-rotted pine wood or needles. It's not ideal and if the pine isn't extremely rotten it can be harmful.

What color are the larvae turning into? If they are becoming dark yellow/orange then that might mean they will pupate soon.
