tarm L2 Oct 6, 2021 #2 Are Lucanus Capreolus larva cannibalistic? I've read some things that say they are. What are other species that are cannibalistic as larva?

Oak Goliathus Oct 6, 2021 #3 I've kept 6 small L1 Lucanus mazama together in a 16oz container and only 2 survived. Highly likely they are cannibalistic.

P pickle01 L2 Oct 8, 2021 #4 I keep Lucanus elaphus together sometimes, but not more than two in a quart container. They've almost all been fine. You can hear them stridulating, probably when the other gets too close. Not sure if capreolus do the same.

Reyes Cerambycidae Oct 25, 2021 #5 Lucanus are very cannibalistic. I would not recommend keeping over 1L larva’s together. I just keep every individual in a small containers
