Additives for Stag beetle substrate

Has anyone experimented with additives for stag beetle larvae, as in additional supplements in their wood substrate? Thanks

Yes, most captive reared stags see some supplement even if it's just flour mixed in the kinshi. Some experiences with supplements use for stag larvae are outlined in the elephant stag guide and ultimate beetle breeding guide (essentially the same). As with any larvae, supplementation takes a little skill and moreso understanding and without such can be a bust rather than a boom.

What do you mean by shredded wood? What kind of wood, particle size, and decay level? More importantly, which kind of stag?
