I Fox
I just collected a Rove Beetle larva from under some loose bark on a Elm tree. any advise for rearing?
Hisserdude
Feed it slow moving, soft bodied prey, or pre-killed prey. The rove beetle species that is most common in my area seems to specifically enjoy eating isopods, so maybe try feeding it some of those. I Fox
Thanks for the info, though it seems to have already pupated. I'll keep your advise in mind for next time I find one.
Hisserdude
Yeah, many rove beetle larvae you find later in the year are already looking to pupate, at least that's certainly the case here. Congrats on the pupa, hope it exposes successfully!
