Want Dynastes hurcules larvae

The long and short is that you can't. All foreign plant-eating species are illegal to import or to keep within the US without borderline impossible-to-obtain permits. Requests for exotic species aren't permitted on this forum and are usually deleted.

Where do you live and you should go to your town hall cause i know depending on your state and county law depends on what you can ship cause i have a friend who lives in texas and they order stuff from places like titain monster beetle shop and iris beetle all the time and their in aisa

Your buddy is breaking the law, then. While you're correct that you also have to check your local laws whenever handling matters of USDA/APHIS, it's illegal to import exotic plant-eating beetles or soil into the country. State to state is a whole other matter.

Really not trying to rain on any parades. Trust me, I'd love to legally get my hands on Dhh (among many others).

Wll i dont know if hes ver ordered any rhino but i know he bought stags and wood and for me i liv in new jrsey and are laws say it us illegal to import or port any agricutural pest and nimals that could be a danger to wildlife and you need to be 21 or up to get a permit to order which i think he has and the websites are us dollar bsed with shipping worldwide

Yeah, that beetle shop is outside of the US. I can get the permit to import them, but it is a pain in the but and takes a while. I currently hold permits for other insects since I work as an entomologist. I'll check into it

It is. Keep in mind if youre in the US. Someone from the beetle discord got their order seized by customs just last week. Id suggest trying through a uk based breeder. Otherwise id wait a few weeks.

The better advice is to just not illegally import insects. That person was lucky that all customs did was seize the package; customs is fully within the right to lay down some hefty fines.

If you're really dead set on having non-native species that are barred by USDA/APHIS, then put in your work to get the permits. Those permits require time, money, and having a separate non-residential containment facility built to specific requirements to import or to keep said insects.

Fair enough. That's unlikely anyone would follow through with all of those requirementa unless they are planning to be an entomologist.

Either way. What are cool native species for breeding? I feel like in the US we don't have great variation.

Lucanus Elaphus, Phaneus Vindex and a few others are gorgeous. I was hoping someone on here would be selling pleocoma beetles.

Pleocoma is probably a bad pet. Adults cannot eat and grubs take forever to mature =(

The herbivore Heteroptera and smaller beetles (esp. carabids) have many cool spp.
