Using Eco Earth substrate for blue death feigning beetles?

Hi everyone- just wondering if anyone uses Eco Earth or anyone type of coconut/soil substrate by itself? Initially I started with play sand mixed with coconut coir, but it seemed a little too moist, and the beetles didn't seem to like it. The shop I picked the beetles up at use dry Eco Earth by itself, so I switched to that for now. I know these beetles are usually found in desert areas, but I've seen people use either substrate. Thanks!

I don't see why not. Some people use coco fiber with rhino beetles. Only thing is that they may not lay eggs or if they do the eggs have to be removed.

I use a mixture of both sand and eco earth with some potting soil mixed in for good measure. These beetles don't seem too particular if merely keeping them alive is your goal.

I changed it to a mix of sand/eco earth with mostly sand, and left eco earth in one corner in case they do lay eggs.
