The things that look like mites are actually the substrate where the beetles were kept.

Unfortunately, it seems that all the larvae I have right now are all males. I don't know why this happened.

They are around 50~52mm in length

Strategus aloeus are not a difficult species to rear. If you give a proper substrate than they will do fine

A male from last year lived about 11 months after he was collected from Arizona. I believe this species can live for atleast about a year if you give them a proper care
