Strange black marking on L.elaphus head

Yes I am sorry there is no picture yet, he is peacefully sleeping in his substrate. I'll get one later when I change it out.

A large black line following from the top of the head to the right mandible appeared on my L.elaphus larva's head (L3 stage btw). He's had it for some time but it just got bigger until it reached its maximum size about a few months ago. It hasn't killed him, but I'm just worried he won't be able to pupate due to some sort of illness/infection. Has anyone had similar experiences, or know of any specific Lucanus diseases that might cause this?

can you send a pic :)  Not sure but cud it just be a natural mark? is it a cut?

-thx

(btw this forum is dead! I'm having issues with my rhinoceros beetles too mind if you help me out too :)

-thx

I've seen black spots on the heads of L. elaphus larvae which do not harm the adult, but it's not a great sign.
