If you look closely at the tip of the abdomen, you will realize that the male has a reproductive organ sticking out, which can't be seen in female.

Strategus aloeus female has a tiny horn on the thorax which gets some people confused about the gender. Also, really tiny minor male probably resembles a female in horn shape so this is the best way to clarify the sex.
