Sexing and breeding scarites subterraneus

Many species in family Carabidae presents distinct characteristics of sexual dimorphism on front tarsi that male has fat, wide tarsi while female has narrow tarsi. I don't currently have any Scarites collections, but that's how it is for many CIcindelinae, Carabinae, and this is general way to identify its sex for family Carabidae. If you have a the specimen, take a picture, and upload it here , then tag me into it. I'll try help you out.

I have no 100% on this topic but I will share with you what I have learned.

Needs a very large container if you are keeping more than 1 at most I say to keep 3 to 4 at most in a setup the size of a critter keeper always make sure you feed them because they are very cannabalistic. I've seen them breed in captivity but the one I bred I just happend to see them breed and to help with breeding if you have space keep them in pairs and keep their substrate fairly moist. Once you do see breeding I say check their setup every 1 to 2 days for about 1 to 2 weeks and for larva I recommend keeping separate just in case .

Diet adult/ will take worms, beetle larva, termites, dead soft bodied insects, mealworms larva and adults, isopods and roly polys, and raw meat no 100% on that.

Larva/ dead spiders buried in ground, mealworm pupa, june beetle larva, termites, and worms.

Good luck they can be very annoying when it comes to cannabalism but just hang in their and I think you can/ need to hibernate adults and larva
