Rainbow stag

They can either lay eggs in white rotten wood or directly in flake soil. If you are planning on using flake soil, press the bottom 4-5cm of substrate.

Beetles purchased abroad will have markedly less larvae and much shorter lifespans than beetles purchased stateside ESPECIALLY when purchased at the adult stage as they are shipped in the hibernation stage to reduce noise in packaging. For this reason I wouldn’t worry too much about breeding them. I have a few local friends of mine that do breed these and sell them and the care is very easy apparently.
