Question on Warrior Beetle

I have had my beetle for about a week now and it used to crawl around inside its housing and hide under a piece of bark but what I noticed now is I don't see it anymore .The beetle seems to be digging down into the substrate and hiding .Is that normal?

Yeah, mine dig like crazy. I don't even have hides for most of them, they prefer to burrow anyway.
