As we all know the weight of the some larvae can determine how big they will be in their adult life, either a minor or a major. I haven't done this yet but in my possession, I have a digital pocket scale that I use for different things. I would like it to use on some of my larvae when they get into their later instars but their is a one concern I have. Say you just finish scaling out your grubs and put the power off on your scale. Could you clean the part they were on with a clorox wipe and later use the scale for them again once the area has dried off? This is due to all the bacteria they harbor. Will this cause health issues for them? It may seem like a dumb question but I would like to know if anybody else does this.
