I really miss collecting this species at local national parks...they were quite common, but collecting them never bored me

Are they found in the same manner as lucanus and dorcus?
From what I've seen, this species breed in logs on the grounds as well as in huge tree roots that are buried underground. Adults pupate in soil like L. elaphus and hibernate in there till summer comes
