On July 18, 2017, a Prionus laticollis pair was found around three oak trees. After they mated and the female laid eggs, I took some pictures of the eggs:
These are the Prionus laticollis fem's eggs a few hrs after being laid. Does anyone know why the color changes, (from near pure white to a somewhat deep yellow). This yellow coloration, however, only lasts for 1-2 days, (might be some variation among diff. eggs)
I tried raising them in a peat moss mixture, and they seemed to be doing fine, but I am a little paranoid, because the creatures that dwell in the soil (like centipedes) might feast on them (I probably should have sanitized the soil).
