Found these two fat, juicy larvae in a rotting oak log today. Any idea on what species they are? I live in CT. Also, should I keep them in this log or transport them into an enclosure filled with rotting wood?

Also, hear these things take a while to pupate. Really hoping these could be Asian long-horned beetles. If not, it could be something bigger which is exciting.

Cracked open a piece of wood that one of them was in today. That one was in pre pupa! Really hyped on this.

Just checked on this beetle today and it was gone. He made it back into the wild. This was a fun experience though!
