PH imbalanced causing possible shock

I've recently gotten 4 d grantii from bugsincyberspace in the 2 oz container. I've got a gallon of flake soil arriving from another store tomorrow. How would I make it so that they wouldn't go in shock from changing the two soils? (Planning to just put the 2 oz container on top of the gallon of flake soil which would be in a protein jug kinda thing). That would be my best idea as pf the moment but I'm here to get some feedback 😀

The best thing to do is to mix the new in with the old, their frass will help promote the microbiology of the substrate. Maybe mix part of the new substrate with what they are currently in then in a week mix the rest. Larvae shouldn't be regularly disturbed but they should be able to handle that. Also it's a good idea to let the new substrate air out for a few days if possible but you will know by the smell if it needs this. If you plan to breed them or raise more in the future always save the frass from their used up substrate so it can be used to inoculate the new batch. Hopefully you will get some advice from more experienced breeders here and I really hope for your success. Good luck!
