Is there any difference between a Chalcosoma atlas and a Chalcosoma atlas hesperus?

Is there any difference between a Chalcosoma atlas and a Chalcosoma atlas hesperus?

I assume so, C.a.hesperus is a subspecies of C.atlas, don't know exactly what the differences between the two are, but something makes them different enough to make one a subspecies.
