So my Manduca sexta pupated and one looks very very concerning.
It got stuck in a molt.

It's finished. These things happen form time to time, I've never been able to save an improperly emerging adult or molting larva.
While I have freed a few that got caught in cocoon silk when trying to emerge, it's usually too late by the time you realize there's a problem
and the animal uses up a lot of it's energy Every moth or butterfly with an issue, is not completely healthy for any number of reasons and even
if you manage to save one, it's lifespan will be shorter. That's why they lay lots of eggs.
