Microtomus purcis

Good luck! I caught a couple of those last year and I had a lot of fun with them

It was nice to keep a large reduviid that wasn't a wheel bug

Nice baby assassin, I'm glad you got an offspring from the wild caught ones. Good job!
Thank you

Seems that I'll be able to establish a captive bred culture of this species soon cause all my adults are doing great and I saw 2 more nymphs hatching out from egg capsules

2 of the 4 nymphs are gone. I'm down to 2 now. Those 2 seem to love B. germanica nymphs I provided so I'm hoping they'll make it to 2nd instal

Nice photos. What kind of trees do you find these in? I find most of them under loose pine bark.
Thank you

I've collected mine under loose barks of live oak, white oak (I think), hickory, and pines

Seems that they prefer large still standing trees with hard, smooth barks in dry condition.

Congratulations with all your success thus far. I have 2 P. rhadamanthus that I'd like to breed, but down the road I definitely want more natives.

Thank you

I've heard that Platymeris can breed through parthenogenesis so hopefully you'll be able to breed them

I've seen an ad on arachnoboards selling various assassins from FL. Perhaps you can contact that person to get more natives?
