Lighting for Beetles?

What sort of lighting do you use and suggest for beetles? I’m not sure if just any regular led strip light (doesn’t produce much heat) will do or if they need almost like basking lights? I saw a heat light led for insects by zoomed would anyone recommend that? There was one in 5watts as the lowest, I feel like that would be okay so it doesn’t cook the beetles or larvae?

I use LEDs on a display shelf for aesthetic reasons. The critters don’t need it, however. As long as your room is consistently 70 or higher, you don’t need any additional heating for 90% of inverts. Those zoomed ones are targeted towards invert keepers, but are most just to get money from the inexperienced keeper. If you do decide to get heating, a ceramic heat emitter is probably the best way to go.

Unless you are keeping your scarab beetles outdoor in cold weather, you don't need any heat source. As long as they are kept indoor, in temp range where human feels comfortable, that's good enough. Use of any such heat lamp is too extreme for the scarab beetle species.

Thank you! It gets a little cold in the house according to me, I tend to stay cold. I’ll grab a thermometer tomorrow and check the tank’s temperature. If it stays a nice 70-ish I’ll just grab a little led so I can see the beetles in there then. I appreciate the help.
