ladybug diet?

I recently caught around 7/8 ladybugs. I would like to keep them but there are no aphids around anymore. I was wondering if they can eat anything else, maybe sugar water? Also can I put them in my garage and have them hibernate in there? That way I can wait to feed them till aphids come out again.

Thanks in advance!

You can give them honey or raisins that have been soaked a few minutes in water and chopped up, which is what most people do.

You don't have to hibernate them they should like the chopped up soaked raisins.

Thanks for the quick reply! Huh I would have never guessed you could feed them raisins like that, I guess honey makes sense cause aphids do produce honeydew. Pretty cool, thanks alot!

I have kept them in the past, and antlions. Both were very fun to rear, might take another crack at them for old times sake.
