Is my millipede dying?

Ok, so I know this forum is about beetles, but does anyone have experience with myriapods? Because i'm very concerned about my millipede... for a few days he has been extremely inactive, iust laying in a C shape not moving or eating. He only moves his legs. This morning, I noticed white marks on his exoskelet... is he dying or could be possibly be moulting on the surface?

 
Doesn't sound good, I'm afraid. :(  It's possible he's molting on the surface, but from what you describe I think it's more likely he's on the way out. 

 
Oh dear. Yeah, that doesn't look promising at all. The uneven white coloration, the black rot mark towards the tail end ... :(  sorry man. If there's still no change and the little guy is still alive and seems to be suffering, you can tuck him in a ziploc and put him in the freezer. Some people aren't too keen on that which is totally understandable, but in my opinion it's a kind option to put them out of their misery.
