Insect Diets Science and Technology by Allen Carson Cohen
This book is pretty advanced, not an easy read. It explains methods of developing and modifying insect diets, analyzes microbe/insect interactions in the rearing setting. Explores insect feeding and biology, and the structure of their metabolic systems and explains the processing steps used in the prepare ration of components and complete diets, including refinement, size reduction, heat and cold processing, microbial contamination prevention, and anti nutrient removal. The book has only a few black and white pictures, it is very complete, I recommend it only for entomologists or laboratories that are interested in producing artifical diets for insects. I did learn from the book, but it was not exactly what I was looking for. The price is pretty high as well.
